Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American performer and actor who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. In addition to classical and jazz, she started to study hip-hop during her teens. At college, she was studying journalism and women's studies. Then, she even had an hour studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. The focus on music until after she finished her studies. My Vag, her My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a huge hit across the Internet and was later featured on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also contained was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in 2015. This was a different initiative. In addition to having published a book as well, she also worked as a performer. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
